Omar Ahmed is a PhD Researcher at the University of Manchester. He was awarded funding by the AHRC in 2015 to investigate Indian Parallel Cinema. He is also a Film & Media Studies teacher, formerly Head of Film at Aquinas College, Manchester. He has been teaching Film and Media Studies for over 12 years and has a PGCE in Further Education and a BA in Film Studies. He completed his Masters at the University of Manchester, specialising in Indian Cinema. He published his first book Studying Indian Cinema (Auteur) in 2015 and has recently contributed several essays to The Directory of World Cinema: India (Intellect, 2015).
