Surangama Guha has graduated with Honours in Sociology from Presidency College, Kolkata. She then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Sociology from Jadavpur University. She has been briefly associated as an intern with The Hindustan Times. Her desire is to conduct research work that would help integrate a sociological outlook within the field of Cinema Studies in India.
