I am marveling at the scriptwriters in Tamil Cinema who are coming up with such innovative stories and the new breed of directors who are doing full justice to them. These movies make you believe that realistic life situations can be hilarious, thrilling, frustrating and how common people like us can also survive the tricky situation if we have the will, true friends and a pinch of good luck.
The story revolves around a medical rep who finds himself in comical yet sad situation of being ridiculed for his ‘low class’ handphone. So when he finds an iPhone at a tea stall he keeps it despite his nagging conscience. What happens is a comical yet frustrating situation where he finds himself mistaken for someone else who had been smuggling expired medicines to be resold as new medicines. The manner in which he gets in and out of these situations is amazing.
These scary yet adorable goondas who are in the sidelines of such movies sometimes act so well, it is unfair to call them extras. They are much more than just fillers.
I really wish this movie gets made in Hindi. I recommend this highly especially for its laughter, comical situations and its underlying message. The film reminds me of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s style of story telling where a loser becomes a real life hero. And yes, it stars Sunny Leone as herself in an item number too! MUST WATCH if you liked Neram.
