By Akelia Bennett

Through the break of dawn,
a mother cries out loud,
her pain was like no other,
because she was looking forward to the birth of a daughter.
Her cries of pain were deafening upon her own ears,
those around her did everything to calm her fears,
she breathed and pushed for not too long,
and from the look upon faces she knew something was wrong.
She couldn’t contain herself,
oh how she wanted her baby girl,
she had been waiting for this child to complete her world.
All she could do was to fall to her feet
oh how she missed this child she didn’t get the chance to meet.
She cried and cried until there were no more tears,
but she knew her child was safe because she was with her savior.
