Holidays

This wistful poem by 12-year-old Maitreyee, takes us into the much-loved holidays when we can do as we please.
holidays poem
A time where one may read books humorous

A time of a month or two,
The time everyone looks forwards to.
A time full of triumph and joy,
The time where nobody will cry.

A time where one may go on a quest,
While the other might do a stunt brilliant.
A time where one may read books humorous,
While the other might sketch a drawing sumptuous.

Who can be reluctant to such a time?
If you are, it’s no less than a crime.
A time where pleasure and delight lays,
This time is titled holidays.
