Kodagu or Coorg, is a district in Karnataka, also called India’s Coffee Bowl. Coorg is rated as one of the top hill station destinations in India and often called the Kashmir of the South. November to May are the ideal months to visit Coorg when the weather is pleasant. Coorg, a landlocked country, is sandwiched between Karnataka and Kerala states, The only way to reach this nature’ s guarded resort is to motor down from Mysore, Mangalore or Hassan towns, (Karnataka) or from Cannanore or Tellicherry (Kerala). The nearest airports are at Mysore (130kms) and Mangalore(140kms) respectively from Madikeri, the only urban town in Coorg. Coorg is a haven for bird-watchers. For those who like trekking there are many opportunities with three major peaks-Tadiandamol, Pushpagiri, and Brahmagiri.
