The Gift of a Rainy Day

The much awaited droplets of rain offers a moment of rejuvenation to students struggling with numerical dilemmas in a four-walled classroom.

The Gift of a Rainy Day - Musing

A much awaited spell of rain strikes the desolate window sills of our four walled classroom laced with an air of numbers. All eyes fly to the trees stationed outside revelling in the heavenly shower. For a moment, the mind chooses to forget the meaningless tangle of numerical dilemmas (which math lovers fondly call problems).

The pearls from the sky prove to be eye turners. Regardless of how mechanical we humans have evolved to be, perhaps there is still a tiny bit of our heart that refuses to shed its last garment of humanity; that refuses to turn a deaf ear to the eternal music of nature.

To student minds torn apart by the constant conflict between the transient joy of numbers penned down in red ink (in simple terms, marks, although I wonder what exactly it is a mark of) and the long lasting euphoria of following their heart — these droplets offer a moment of rejuvenation.

A bit of soul searching, some more introspection and a lot more appreciation for the divine hands that moulded us into being, that’s what the blessed rainy day offered in a nutshell!
