Kept undusted for years
As I lie on my bed
And the night eats me up
A silverfish comes to my rescue
A long lost thought that lies
Folded in the cupboard
Seeks a sudden breath of fresh air
A book of memories
Kept undusted for years
Seeks an unseasonal dusting
The room becomes yellow
And I know it’s been long
Really long ago…
Silverfish come along
And make me love the night
While the stars fade out at twilight
Silverfish! Silverfish!
Do not scurry and hide
Listen to what fairies confide
Shh… listen…
“If his fate is to get burnt
In trying to catch the stars,
Then so be it, so be it.”
